Jesse is a gay private investigator who finds people who don’t want to be found, riding the city at night in leather from neck to boot. Tonight’s job is Evan, a rich runaway, and Jesse makes the beginner’s mistake of thinking he’ll be easy. Evan spots him first, takes him down and hauls him to his room, where Jesse is roped to a metal chair: wrists behind his back, boots tied to the legs, chest and elbows cinched to the backrest with rope crossing over his leather jacket. He can only shout, so Evan clamps a hand over his mouth, shoves a dirty sock in, ties a bandana over it, then another and another. Duct tape follows, wrap after wrap, then more bandanas and more tape, until Jesse’s stuffed mouth is buried under eight layers, a thick, sealed mound of cloth and adhesive.
